TIP works with our participant ecosystem to ideate, define, build, test & validate, and deploy open and disaggregated products and solutions for the industry. The Technical Program Manager (TPM) is a critical member of TIP's team that will report into the Chief Engineer. The TPM will be responsible for the day-to-day project delivery management of TIP's project groups including providing technical and strategic expertise and guidance. We are seeking experienced Program Managers with a strong knowledge of the telecommunications industry that can plan, prioritise, coordinate, and organise both internal and participant resources. The TPM will be required to build relationships with participants and interact with senior management within Service Providers, Technology Providers and the wider telecommunications ecosystem.


Work with internal and external stakeholders to provide program management support on a daily basis, including:

  • Management of project activities ensuring resources and budget are allocated where required
  • Responsibility for project definition including identification of activities, deliverables, milestones and managing of resources for delivery
  • Creation and implementation of product release definitions to develop an industry roadmap for the project participants
  • Ensuring project progress is reported on a regular basis to multiple stakeholders, identifying risks, issues and mitigations where appropriate
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute a test and validation strategy for project delivery
  • Verify that resulting deliverables are of high-quality and consistent with TIP's requirements for technical and editorial quality across all projects
  • Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with TIP's organisational documents and processes
  • Defining and keeping up to date TIP's process documentation for project delivery and communication to participants
  • Working with marketing and events teams to develop and implement a strategy to promote the project to the industry
  • Liaise with other industry forums as necessary (e.g. 3GPP, O-RAN Alliance, WBA, ONF)


  • Minimum 5-10 years of Technical Program Management or Product Owner experience, including complex product development and deployment projects for telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Previous experience managing technology programs with a high cross-functional component, to develop and deploy telecommunications products and solutions.
  • Trained in a recognised project management methodology, PMP or PRINCE2 certification or equivalent
  • Bachelor degree or higher in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree/experience.
  • Strategic and commercial knowledge of telecommunication networks, with knowledge of RFP & RFI process
  • Knowledge of at least one broad technology area including 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi, SDN/NFV, Cloud infrastructure, IP networking, Optical Transport Networks, Enterprise Networks, etc.
  • Previous experience managing proof of concept trials, field trials and commercial deployments
  • Ability to create technical documentation and to develop and document technical processes.
  • Strong customer presence and experience managing customer relationships with a proven track record of interacting with internal and external stakeholders, including C-level executives.


Location: Remote, Preference for candidates in the United Kingdom or the European Union

Status: Fulltime, Exempt
