The Digital Analytics Association is seeking to fill the role of Executive Director. This role is responsible for advancing the mission and vision of the DAA.

Mission: Advancing the use of data to understand and improve the digital world through professional development and community.

Vision: A better digital world through data.

This role is essentially the "CEO" of the association and will be accountable for its success. The Executive Director provides strategic business planning for the organization and the Board of Directors to accelerate organizational effectiveness.

Who the Executive Director Works With:

The Board of Directors

The Executive Director works with the Board in fulfilling its responsibility to set policy for the Association and to carry on its business. The Executive Director supports the Board by managing and being responsible for:

  • The day to day operations of the Digital Analytics Association including, but not limited to:
    • The fulfillment and compliance with all applicable laws and legal requirements
    • The financial matters of the Association, including risk management
    • Preparation of agendas and reports of meetings, tracking action items
    • Conducting Board elections and developing new board member orientation
    • Keeping the Board informed of the progress of key organization initiatives, committees and task forces
  • Assessing Association performance and forecasting and planning for the future
  • The setting of annual and long-range strategic goals; strategies of activities and programs to achieve these goals; objectives by which progress toward the goals will be measured; and annual and long-range budgets and forecasts of the necessary resources to achieve those goals


Staff & Contractors

The Executive Director is responsible for the effectiveness and evaluation of staff, vendors, partners, and contractors.  The Executive Director is the main point of contact from the staff to the DAA Board.  The Executive Director is responsible for compliance with the personnel policies approved by the Board.


The Digital Analytics Association is volunteer driven. From the Board of Directors to task forces to chapter officers and more, volunteers fulfill all of these roles. Promoting a spirit of volunteerism and recruiting within the community to fulfill these roles is critical to the success of the organization.

What Success Looks Like:


The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring that the Association serves the needs and interests of the analytics community, providing individuals and organizations value as members. Member value is the most critical success factor for the Digital Analytics Association and therefore the Executive Director. Member growth is a natural byproduct of member value. The Executive Director will have a mindset of growing the organization through increasing individual members, organizational members, and through partnerships with other member organizations.

The Executive Director will cultivate relationships with executives within member organizations and non-member industry organizations to help ensure the Digital Analytics Association is developing the type of value propositions, marketing materials & presentations, product offerings and thought leadership required to attract and retain executive sponsorship.

Programs & Initiatives

The Executive Director is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the programs and initiatives undertaken by the Association. The Executive Director: 

  • Guides in the development and execution of current and long-term strategic organizational goals through the programs and initiatives of the organization.
  • Identifies trends and industry issues that impact the Association and its work; identifies, builds and maintains senior-level relationships with industry decision makers; evangelizes the benefits of the Association and expands its footprint within the industry.
  • Promotes and acts as spokesperson for the Association and its mission; promotes interest and participation in the Association; engages with audiences at industry conferences by speaking formally on behalf of the Association.

Association and Industry Representation

Along with the President and Chairperson of the Board, the Executive Director is the Association's chief spokesperson and point of contact to other organizations and industry stakeholders.  The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring that relations with other organizations and entities are consistent with and advances the interests of Digital Analytics Association, its members, and the industry/public.

This is a remote work position. Occasional travel for board meetings and industry events will be required post-COVID.


  • Required: 10 to 15-year proven track record of success in nonprofit leadership and working with Boards of Directors
  • Knowledge of the analytics industry strongly preferred, including digital analytics, business intelligence, or data science.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage effectively across organizations, functions, and stakeholders, including financial management and vendor management
  • Experience in attracting and retaining memberships, sponsorships, and partnerships in support of the association's goals, including growth, member value and maintaining a balanced budget
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong commitment to successful volunteer-staff partnership
  • Ability to communicate and work with diverse people in a decentralized/global organization
  • Track record of execution and achievement; results orientation
  • Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • CAE (Certified Association Executive) accreditation is a plus


Selection Process:

The selection process will proceed as follows:

  1. From the submitted resumes, qualified applicants will be identified to participate in an initial interview that will include responding to questions via Hirevue, a video interviewing platform.
  2. Semi-finalists selected from the video submissions will be invited to live interview(s) via video conference with Digital Analytics Association leadership and/or selection committee members.
  3. Final candidates will be invited to interview with the Digital Analytics Association selection committee which is composed of members of the Board of Directors. Candidates may be asked to speak with other board members as well. These live interviews will also be via video conference.

Timeline on the above-referenced selection process will be determined by the quantity and quality of applicants received.
