The Senior Program Manager leads Virtual's engagement in assigned client associations with a focus on driving those groups to successful outcomes.  

We are looking for one candidate in the greater Boston area, D.C. area, or San Francisco Bay area for this role.  


  • Serve as primary contact for Virtual, managing all facets of service delivery and account strategy.  Ensure high level service excellence. 
  • Work with key client stakeholders to ensure strategic goals and objectives are established and clearly communicated. Oversee the delivery of programs and development in accordance with client strategic plans including complex client activities and/or projects.
  • Guide and facilitate association personnel such as volunteers, client members, board members and officers.
  • Contribute to the formulation of client policies, programs and procedures.  Make recommendations for future growth.
  • Facilitate client conference calls/face-to-face meetings; draft meeting minutes; document action items and follow up on action items.
  • Overall project and program management and support for all client services and company initiatives.
  • Plan and direct each stage of the membership development process;
    • Member benefit packages;
    • Orientation and/or certification of new members;
    • Membership renewals;
    • Recruitment of new members.
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Management of Virtual internal staff and interns to include,
    • Training;
    • Coaching and professional development;
    • Additional administrative duties.
  • Manage client budgets in collaboration with client and Virtual finance team.
  • Collaborate with Virtual Marketing and Communications team, oversee development and implementation of communication initiatives.
  • Work with the Virtual Events team to manage client events. Duties may include onsite event management.
  • Maintain, analyze and deliver program metrics and scorecard reporting.
  • Assist with client website management both public and members only and collaborate with technology solutions team on all needed tools.


  • Bachelor's (B.A./B.S.) degree required;
  •  7 plus Years Account/Project/Program Manager experience in PR/Marketing/High-Tech/Consulting/Industry Association environment;
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills;
  • Experience leading functional teams, supervision and mentoring;
  • Experience working with multiple cultures across all time zones a plus;
  • Entrepreneurial drive -- a passion for pushing clients and teams toward desired results;
  • Comfortable being front-and-center in a client advisory role
  • Natural leadership traits in a team/group environment
  • High level of creativity and "rolled up sleeves" working style;
  • Management and leadership experience;
  • Detail-oriented, with effective organizational skills, including strong time-management, the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and set and achieve strategic objectives;
  • Must be a self-starter with ability to manage a functional client team, demonstrate excellence in organizational management, work well under pressure, and work independently and as a strong team player with hands-on customer service skills;  
  • Ability to manage staff hours to client budgets to ensure profitability targets are met;
  • Computer proficiency; specifically, with Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Willingness and ability to travel, if required (30%, both international and domestic, valid passport required);
  • Willingness and availability for calls outside normal business hours, when needed, due to the global aspect of client business.
